Thought the tension test was salon voodoo until a client's hair snapped in my hands
A rep at the Columbus trade show in 2019 kept pushing me to stretch a wet strand before every lightening service, and I figured it was just a sales pitch until one client's hair broke off mid-process. Now I do the stretch test on everyone, and it has saved me two color corrections since January. Does anyone else check before they commit, or do you just go by feel?
Man that sucks, having a client's hair snap in your hands is one of those things that sticks with you for a while. I feel you on the rep thing too, I used to blow off anyone at those shows pushing a "system" because it always felt like they just wanted to sell me something. Good on you for turning it into a habit though, two saves since January is real proof it works.
