My aunt told me to always charge for color corrections up front
I didn't listen when a client wanted a drastic blonde shift, and it took two extra bowls of lightener and four hours. Now I have a firm policy written into my consultation form. What's your go-to rule for tricky color changes?

Oh man, my friend learned that the hard way with a client who wanted black box dye removed. She had to charge a corrective color fee after the fact and it was a whole thing.

Wait, isn't a corrective color fee standard for that kind of fix? It's not an extra charge after the fact, it's the actual price for the service. Removing box black is a huge process that can take hours. The initial quote should always be for a color correction, not a regular color service.

My cousin fried her hair trying that at home, cost a fortune to fix.
