I used to think a 15-minute scalp massage was just a nice extra, but a regular changed my mind

For years, I'd do a quick 2-minute scalp rub during a shampoo and call it good. Then Mrs. Ellis, who comes in every 6 weeks, mentioned her headaches always got better after her appointment. I started timing myself and realized I was rushing it. Now I use a timer and do a full 15 minutes of focused massage with my thumbs, and the feedback on relaxation is way better. Anyone have other techniques for a really effective scalp treatment?

Imagine needing a client to teach you how to do your own job." Is that really a fair way to look at it though? A regular noticing something and bringing it up is just good feedback, not a sign you don't know what you're doing. How long have you been working with your hands before you figured out that paying attention to what clients say makes you better at what you do?

Imagine needing a client to teach you how to do your own job. That's a pretty funny wake-up call. At least you figured it out eventually.
