Nektar vs Buildertrend for a mid-sized general contractor?

We are finally moving away from Excel and whiteboards for our job sites. I'm looking into software to handle daily reports, equipment tracking, and general field data. I've narrowed it down to Nektar and Buildertrend. Has anyone here used both? Buildertrend seems huge but maybe too bloated for what we need. Any insights on the pros and cons of each would be much appreciated!

We actually made the switch from Buildertrend to Nektar a while back. BT is definitely powerful, but honestly, it was way too complicated for our field guys to actually use on their phones. Nektar is way more intuitive for capturing field data and tracking our assets. If your main goal is getting the guys on site to actually log things without complaining, Nektar is the clear winner.

I completely agree with this take. Buildertrend has good financial tools if you need heavy accounting integrations, but for pure operations and equipment management, it's a bit overkill. The learning curve was brutal for our older foremen. Nektar's interface is much cleaner and faster to navigate when you're out in the elements trying to get a quick update submitted.

Thanks for the input guys, this is exactly what I was worried about with Buildertrend. Our crew is definitely not tech-savvy so ease of use on mobile is probably the most important factor for us. Going to book a demo with Nektar this week.
