Deciding between a few local design-build firms for an addition

We're planning a two-story addition (family room down, expanding the master suite up) and I'm currently torn between going with a traditional architect + GC route or a dedicated design-build firm. I've talked to Payne & Tompkins and a few independent contractors. What are the pros/cons of a full design-build firm in your experience?
