Got stuck on a site in Austin because my drone battery died mid-flight
We were mapping a 15-acre lot and the drone just dropped out of the sky with 20% left. The heat messed with the battery reading. Now I carry three extra packs and keep them in a cooler in my truck during summer. Anyone else run into battery issues in hot weather and have a better fix?

That silica gel trick is actually pretty clever. Do you use the little packets or something bigger?

Honestly, the cooler trick is smart but I worry about condensation. Tbh I started putting those silica gel packets from shoeboxes in with my batteries. It soaks up any moisture when you pull a cold pack into the hot air. Ngl it sounds dumb but I haven't had a battery swell since I started doing it. Just toss a few in your battery case.

Yo that's actually genius. I keep a little cloth bag of silica beads in my camera bag now, the kind you can recharge in the oven. Works way better than the tiny packets.
