Found out my crew spends 6 hours a week just walking back to the trailer for paperwork
I was setting up Procore on a 40 unit job in Tulsa last month and the super pulled me aside. He said his guys log about 6 hours a week each just walking back to the trailer to grab updated drawings or sign daily logs. That is basically a full workday gone every week across a 12 person crew. I always assumed the delay was material lead times, not guys doing laps around the site. Anyone else seen this on their jobs or is it just how it goes?
Man, that walking time adds up way faster than people realize, we started putting tablets in the gang boxes and it cut most of that out. Worth checking if your super can get a few cheap ones set up with the app so guys sign logs right where they're working.
