TIL a cheap HDMI cable cost me a full weekend
I was troubleshooting a client's PC that kept losing video signal. Spent 6 hours swapping drivers, testing the GPU, even reinstalled Windows. Finally grabbed a known good HDMI cable from my own kit and the problem vanished. The cable was some no-name brand they bought for $5 on Amazon. Now I always check cables first before diving into software. Anyone else had a simple cable waste hours of your time?

Tbh honestly that no-name Amazon cable tricked me before too, now I test cables first.

My friend Mark spent a whole Saturday trying to get his Nintendo Switch to show up on his new 4K TV. He swapped HDMI ports, messed with the TV settings, even factory reset the Switch. Turned out the cable he was using was from like 2013 and just couldn't handle the bandwidth. A $10 cable from Best Buy fixed it in two minutes.
