PSA: The guy who yelled at me for not fixing his printer in 10 minutes
I was at a small shop in Denver, and this man brought in a 15-year-old laser printer. He said, 'Just make it work, I have a meeting in an hour.' I opened it up and found the fuser was totally gone, a part we didn't even stock. When I told him it needed a special order and a few days, he got red in the face and started yelling about how we were all useless. It wasn't the anger that stuck with me, it was how he just expected magic. Has anyone else had a customer who thought old, broken hardware could be fixed instantly?

Tell him to try the magic store next time.

Consider how that anger is really about his own poor planning. He knew the printer was ancient and waited until the last possible second, so he's just mad at himself. It's easier to yell at you than admit he messed up.

Spot on about the poor planning. I mean, that last minute panic turns people into monsters who think yelling creates spare parts. It's a special kind of delusion to think a decade of dust just wipes off in sixty seconds.
