Just found out how many laptops I've recycled over the years
I was cleaning out my garage last weekend and found an old logbook I kept back when I first started repairing computers around 2012. I decided to count up all the machines I've scrapped or recycled since then. The number surprised me big time - I've personally taken apart over 180 laptops and maybe 60 desktops. That's a lot of circuit boards and dead hard drives. It got me thinking about how much e-waste we generate in this trade. I wonder if anyone else has kept track of their own totals over the years? What's your count looking like?

My buddy found 42 old phones in a shoebox he forgot about for years.

Honestly, 180 laptops is wild to me. I thought I was doing a lot but I've barely cracked 50 and I've been at this since like 2015. Tbh I still feel bad every time I have to scrap one that still boots up, even if it's completely obsolete. Ngl though that 60 desktops number is just as shocking, those things are heavy and take up so much space. What do you do with all those dead hard drives? I swear I have a drawer full of them that I swear I'll wipe eventually but never do.
