Took 45 minutes to fix a flat on the shoulder of I-35 in Austin
Tire blew out on the way to work. Not the fun kind. I pulled over, but the spare was stuck under the truck. Took me 20 minutes just to figure out the jack point. Then the lug nuts were on so tight I nearly stripped one. Another 25 minutes wrestling that thing. By the time I finished, my shirt was soaked and traffic had backed up past the exit. Has anyone else had a simple flat turn into a whole morning ordeal?
Man, I feel this one. Had almost the exact same thing happen last summer on 183, except my lug nuts were rusted so bad I had to stand on the wrench and bounce just to break them loose. Took me 40 minutes in 100 degree heat and I ended up missing a meeting I actually needed to be at. The worst part is you think it's gonna be a quick 10 minute job and then everything fights you the whole way.
