The 20 mile back road gamble paid off big today
I've got two ways to get home from my job in Richmond. The interstate is 25 miles flat but traffic is brutal. I took the hilly 2 lane country road today and saved 15 minutes plus saw a bald eagle, has anyone else found a secret route that just works?

Found an old logging road near Charlottesville that shaves off twelve minutes and has zero cell service which is honestly a bonus.

Zero cell service is honestly a bonus" - that's the part that got me. Feels like there's this whole trend where the stuff that seems like a downgrade on paper actually turns out to be the upgrade we needed. Like how I've started taking the longer way to the grocery store just to avoid traffic lights and suddenly my whole afternoon feels calmer.
