Hot take: A 3-day job in the Gulf turned into a 12-hour nightmare because of a single valve.

We were tasked with inspecting a pipeline valve at 180 feet, but the client's drawings were wrong by about 15 feet, putting us right in a silt cloud from a recent storm. My dive partner and I had to work blind for over an hour, feeling our way with our hands, and we almost missed the defect. How do you guys handle it when the paperwork you're given is just plain incorrect on site?

Been there. My team once spent half a day looking for a junction box that the drawings said was on the north wall. It was on the ceiling. We felt like idiots, but at least we were dry idiots. You just have to assume every piece of paper is a creative writing exercise until you prove it right. Makes the job take three times as long, but what else is new.

Remember when I thought the drawings were gospel? @ellis.susan's story is proof they're just suggestions lol.
