Wait, so which crew is actually right here? Are they mixing up the names on the job site, or is there some local nickname causing the confusion? I've heard of projects getting called by the wrong name all the time when people talk. Does the crew calling it the Pontchartrain project know they're technically wrong, or is that just what everyone says?

Actually that's the Lake Borgne surge barrier. Pontchartrain bridge is a different project.
