Dropped $210 on a "no fog" mask insert that fogged worse than my $12 one
Bought one of those fancy anti fog inserts at a dive shop in Morgan City last month for $210. The guy behind the counter swore it was what all the inland guys run in cold water. First jump in 48 degree water, it fogged up in about 90 seconds and I couldn't read my gauges. My old $12 spit and baby shampoo trick never did me like that. Called the shop and they said I must be breathing wrong through my nose, which is a new one for a full face. Anyone else get burned by a pricey mask insert, or did I just get a bad one?
Wait, the shop actually told you that you were breathing wrong through your nose in a full face mask? That has to be the lamest excuse I have ever heard, since a full face covers your nose anyway. Two hundred and ten bucks is nuts for something that quit in 90 seconds, my cheap spit trick has never failed me like that.
