DAE skip the drysuit neck ring lube because your old tender said silicone grease kills the seal?
I was on a pipeline inspection in Galveston last month and my neck seal started leaking about 20 minutes into the dive, cold water pouring down my chest. My tender back in the day always said to use silicone grease on the ring, but I switched to plain food grade lube after a guy on a different crew swore the silicone ate his seal. I thumbed the dive, climbed out, and found the seal was fine, it was the ring itself that had a hairline crack I never noticed during pre-dive. Cost me a 45 minute bottom time and the client was not happy. So what are you all actually running on your neck rings, grease or dry, and has anyone else had a ring crack on them like that?
