Shoutout to the guy who brought his kid to the shop on Tuesday

He was explaining the difference between a first print and a second print of a 1992 X-Men comic, and the kid was actually listening. Has anyone else seen younger folks getting into the hobby lately?

Watched my buddy's nephew get totally hooked last weekend... the kid spent an hour just going through dollar bins, pulling out old Spider-Man issues and asking about every villain he didn't recognize. My friend ended up buying him a couple, and the kid carried them around like treasure the whole day. It was pretty cool to see.

That dollar bin thing is actually a pretty smart move by shops. They'll put some decent older issues in there that aren't worth much money, but are perfect for a new reader. It gets kids excited without the parent having to drop twenty bucks on a new book. I've seen it work a bunch of times.

My local shop's Saturday kids' club doubled in size this month.
