I finally read the back of my coffee bag and the roast date was 4 months old
I grabbed a bag off the shelf at a shop in Denver last Tuesday and didn't bother checking the bottom until I got home. The "roasted on" stamp said March 2, and it was already the middle of June, so that coffee was sitting there for over 100 days. I brewed it anyway and it tasted flat, like cardboard with a hint of old attic. Now I flip every bag over before I pay, and the cashier at my usual spot thinks I'm weird for it. How far out do you all draw the line before you just walk away from a bag?
