That time a coolant line burst at 2am taught me a lesson about hose clamps

Last Tuesday I was running a late shift at a small shop outside Cleveland when my coolant hose blew off the fitting (sprayed blue stuff everywhere). The cheap plastic clamp snapped under pressure after about 6 months of use. I switched to all stainless steel spring clamps on every machine the next day. Anybody else have a midnight mess that made you change your setup?

Oh man, midnight messes are the WORST. I had a shop vac hose explode on me at 3am once because I forgot to check the clamp. Hot dust everywhere, looked like I got into a fight with a bag of flour and LOST. Took me three showers to get it out of my hair. That's why I'm a clamp snob now too. Learned my lesson the hard way, same as you.

Is it just me or does every dumb mistake in life seem to happen at the most inconvenient time possible? It's like the universe has this twisted sense of humor where it waits until you're tired or in a hurry to teach you a lesson you'll never forget. I swear, these late night disasters are the only way most of us actually learn anything worth knowing.
