Switched from plastic wrap to beeswax wraps six months ago

Honestly I used to go through a roll of plastic wrap every two weeks for meal prep. Then I saw a video about how much plastic waste comes from just one household and decided to try beeswax wraps from a local shop in Portland. They cost me $28 for a pack of three but they still work great after half a year. Has anyone else made the switch and found a brand that actually lasts more than a year?

$28 for three wraps is crazy expensive, I can't believe you paid that much.

Totally get where @the_lee is coming from, but I think it depends on what you're actually getting for that price. If those wraps are loaded with high quality ingredients and are really filling (like big enough for two meals), $28 might not be that bad. I've paid way more at fancy salad places for way less food, so it kind of balances out in my book. Plus if they're from a local spot that sources stuff fresh, you're paying for that care too.

Had a buddy buy some "gourmet" wraps last week from a place that looked super nice online. Paid like 32 bucks for three of them and texted me a photo bragging about his lunch. Turned out they were tiny, like barely bigger than a taco, and he was still hungry after eating all three. He said the taste was okay but nothing special, just chicken and lettuce with some sauce. So yeah, I get why you'd think 28 is too much unless those wraps are literally stuffed full of steak or something. Sometimes the price tag just doesn't match what you actually get.
