Dropped $200 on a rotating brush kit, best and worst call in the same month
It cleaned my flues like a dream on 2 jobs, then the motor died on the 3rd one and left me with a sooty mess in the customer's living room. Anyone else gamble on pricier gear or are you sticking with the basic rods and calling it good?

The motor dying sounds more like a lemon than a brush issue, maybe worth a warranty claim before writing it off.

...and honestly, the opposite might be true here. Warranty claims turn into a whole thing, you know? They'll tell you it's normal wear and tear, and then you're stuck without a tool for weeks while they "test" it. Plus, if the brush issue is a known flaw, a new one from the same batch could just die the exact same way. I'd rather pop the brushes myself first just to see what's actually going on inside, because if it's a cheap fix, that's way better than fighting with customer service for a replacement that might have the same problem, @craig.mila. Even a lemon gets a second look before I send it back, especially when the alternative is a refurb that feels like a gamble anyway.
