Update: my resume went from 3 pages to 1 and a recruiter in Denver actually called me back
I cut my resume down after a friend who hires at a Denver tech company said she skips anything over a page, and within 2 weeks I got 3 callbacks after 5 months of nothing. Nothing else changed, same jobs, same skills, just less stuff. Has anyone else seen a real difference from trimming theirs down?
Did you read that study from a few years back where they tracked eye movement on resumes? Turns out recruiters spend like 6 seconds on the first pass, so a one pager just makes sense.
