Serious question, did anyone else's resume get tossed by a 7 second scan before a human ever saw it?
I ran my resume through a free checker at 2am and it flagged 6 keywords I was missing for jobs I actually wanted. What tools are you all using to beat the bots, or is applying in person at a shop on 5th Street still the move?
Oh man, I heard about this on a podcast, some recruiter said the software scans for exact matches on job titles and skills before a person ever opens the file. So if the posting says "customer success" and your resume says "client relations" you get binned even though it's the same thing. The trick they mentioned was basically copying the job description wording right into your resume, like almost word for word. Walking into a shop on 5th Street would probably work better but most places just tell you to apply online now.
