My buddy bragged about returning his used stove, and now I'm overthinking gear ethics

Watched a coworker return a filthy camping stove after a year, still got a refund.

Seriously, that stove story is wild, kinda like what @phoenix_grant34 mentioned with the biohazard jacket. My cousin returned a tent after three years of festivals, covered in mud with a ripped rainfly. It smelled like a mix of beer and wet dog, and the poles were bent. He just shrugged and said it 'wasn't holding up,' and they gave him store credit. Now I'm picturing a warehouse full of destroyed gear from returns like that.

That level of return audacity is honestly goals. My old hiking gear has stains I can't even identify anymore, like some kind of moldy science project. Pretty sure if I tried to return my rain jacket, they'd just call a biohazard team instead of giving a refund.
