Just realized my 10 year old sleeping bag is warmer than my $200 new one
I took my old Coleman bag to Big Bend National Park last month and slept fine in 40 degree weather. Then I spent $200 on a new synthetic bag rated for 30 degrees and froze my butt off on the same trip. Has anyone else noticed newer gear being way less warm than the old stuff for the same rating?

Oh man, old gear was just built different (and heavier) back then, that's for sure.
