Serious question, did the inspector at my shop in Toledo save me from a $400 mistake on the bandsaw?
He walked up while I was breaking down a beef forequarter and pointed at the blade, saying "feel that heat? that blade is dull and you're pushing too hard." I swapped it out and the next cut went through like butter, but I'm still wondering how he spotted it from 10 feet away. Any old timers here know what tells them a blade is done before it starts wandering?
Ha, that inspector just saved you from the same dumb mistake I make every time I swear the blade's still fine. Those old guys can hear and smell a dull blade before you even feel it.
