I finally got my display case glass clean after 3 months of cloudy film
I tried vinegar, then a razor blade, then a $9 bottle of glass polish from Restaurant Depot in Cincinnati, and nothing got rid of that haze until a rep told me it was mineral buildup from the hard water I use in my spray bottle. Switching to distilled water and a squeegee after every wipe down cleared it up in about 2 weeks, and now customers actually stop to look at the ribeyes instead of squinting through the smudge. What are you all using on your case glass that actually holds up through a full shift?
Hard water is the sneaky one because it looks like grease until you figure out it's mineral film. Distilled water plus a squeegee is the move, and a drop of dish soap in the spray helps the squeegee glide so you're not chasing streaks. Wipe the frame and edges too, since water pools there and leaves crust that drips back down.
