Bought a $400 power slicer for the shop, wish I'd asked around first

Picked up a used commercial slicer off an auction site last month for my shop, figured it'd pay for itself in no time. The damn thing needs a new blade and a full calibration, which runs almost $200 on top, and it still leaves ragged edges on brisket. Anyone else get burned buying used equipment that looked fine in photos but turned out to be a money pit?
