Spent $600 on an LLC setup and I'm still not sure it was worth it
Two years ago I paid a lawyer in Denver around $600 to file my LLC and write up a basic operating agreement for a small side business I run with my brother. A friend keeps telling me I got fleeced and that LegalZoom would have done the same thing for $200, but I keep thinking about how she actually caught a clause that would have made it messy if we ever split. So which is it: is paying a real lawyer for the boring setup papers smart, or just burning cash when templates exist? Curious what you all think, and if anyone has a number for what they paid for something similar.
