Just realized my email open rate jumped from 18% to 42% in a month

Switched from generic subject lines to asking a direct question about my customer's biggest paint point. Saw the change after testing it for four weeks. What's the most effective subject line trick you've found?

Found questions can feel a bit spammy sometimes.

Honestly, I felt the same way for the longest time. It seemed like lazy posting. Then I saw how a really good, simple question can pull quiet people into the talk. It changed my view. Now I see them as a tool, but you have to use them right. If the question is real and fits the talk, it can help. If it's just for clicks, that's when it feels spammy.

That's a huge jump, but @dianaanderson has a point about questions feeling spammy.
