My bullet journal saved me from a week-long meltdown at work
Last month I had five deadlines hit in three days and my brain just froze. I grabbed my journal and did a rapid log of every single task across 3 pages with no decor, just bullets. Getting it out of my head onto paper in 10 minutes let me actually breathe and start knocking things out. Anyone else use their bullet journal more as a mental dumpster than a pretty planner?

Paper and pen lets you dump all that noise out fast without worrying about format or making it look good. The raw brain unload is the most useful part of bullet journals for me too, way more than any spread with washi tape and doodles. Decorative planners are fine for some people but the quick capture method is what actually saves your sanity when things pile up.

Wait, you don't even use tape or stickers? I thought everyone at least had a few rolls of washi sitting around collecting dust...

Exactly this. Got a pocket notebook and a single cheap pen. That's it. No tape. No stickers. No fancy markers.
Works because there's zero friction. No setup. No picking the right color. Just open and write.
When your brain is screaming at you about ten different things you don't want to mess with cutting out little pieces of paper. You want to get it down and move on.
The decorative stuff looks great on Instagram. But in real life when you're stressed and behind it just gets in the way.
Keep it simple. One pen. One notebook. One rule. Write it down before you forget it. That's the whole game.
