My $15 coffee habit versus the $0.75 French press I already owned

I was spending about $15 a week at the coffee shop near my office in Tacoma. I did the math for a month and it was a real shock. So I dug out the old French press from the back of my cupboard, bought a bag of decent beans for $12, and started making it at home. It costs me about $0.75 a cup now. I'm putting the $60 I save every month straight into my vacation fund. What's a small switch you made that added up fast?

Wow, it's crazy how many small habits are basically subscription fees we forget to cancel.

You said it costs about 75 cents a cup now. That's probably a bit low if you factor in the milk or sweetener most people use. Still a huge savings over the shop, so your main point totally stands.
