A trip to the grocery store in Madison made me rethink my whole food budget

I was at the big store on the west side, just grabbing my usual stuff, when I saw a guy with a cart full of chicken marked down to $1.50 a pound. He told me he comes at 8 AM on Tuesdays, right after they put out the new sale tags and mark down the old meat. I started doing the same thing three weeks ago. Now I plan my meals around those markdowns and freeze what I don't use right away. It sounds small, but I'm saving about $25 a week just on protein. I used to think budgeting was about cutting things out, but this feels like a smart win. Has anyone else found a specific store or time that works best for these kinds of deals?

Yeah, seriously... we need a name. It's like dropping a hint about free pizza and then walking away. @murphy.abby is right, that's just cruel. My guess is it's probably that big place over on the west side, you know the one. But come on, Kevin asked a simple question.

Read the post and almost drove to Madison. Good tip, but @kevin_west is asking the real question here. Which store, man? Don't leave us hanging.
