Just realized the hostel front desk will call around for tours way cheaper than the online sites
I was in Cusco trying to book a Sacred Valley trip and the booking sites all wanted $65. The guy at my hostel desk said give him ten minutes, and he came back with a local operator doing the same route for $28. He just called three companies in town while I ate breakfast. The catch is you have to ask in person and be flexible on the day. Has anyone found this works better in some countries than others?
