Noticed rice bags at my local Aldi went up 40 cents in just six months
I keep a little notebook of pantry prices (weird, I know) and that rice jump was the biggest shocker out of everything, what items have you seen spike the most lately?

Flip it around though - the cheap store brand rice went up 40 cents but the fancy organic stuff at my store actually went down a little. Anyone else noticing weird price shifts like that between budget and premium versions?

Forty cents on a bag of rice doesn't sound too bad honestly. Grocery prices have gone up way more on things like eggs and butter the last couple years.

Wait hold up, FORTY CENTS on a bag of rice?! Where are you shopping?! The last bag I grabbed was literally $2 more than it was a year ago! I get that eggs and butter have gone up too but that's a wild jump for something as basic as rice. Like my usual 5 pound bag went from like $5 to almost $7 at my store. Are you getting some kind of bulk discount or something?
