Do you buy cheap spices or splurge on quality ones?

I had this chat with a neighbor last week who swears by dollar store spices, but I've found the good stuff lasts way longer because you use less of it. Which side makes more sense when you're pinching pennies for dinner every night?

Oh dear, I've made that exact mistake myself. It's amazing how a spice that looks like such a bargain can completely ruin an entire pot of chili. You think you're being smart saving a dollar, then you end up dumping the whole thing and ordering pizza. I still have a little bag of that stuff in my cupboard from two years ago, just sitting there as a reminder to never cheap out on spices again. Lesson learned the hard way, same as you, I reckon.
