Appreciation post: the $1 rotisserie chicken bag at Food 4 Less in Fresno
I stopped by Food 4 Less in Fresno two weeks ago around 8pm and saw they were bagging up the leftover rotisserie chickens for a buck each. I grabbed two, took them home, and pulled all the meat off into a big bowl. That meat turned into chicken tacos that night, chicken salad the next day, and a pot of soup with the bones on day three. Three dinners for my family of four off two dollars of chicken. Does anyone else know what time their store marks down the hot food, or am I just getting lucky?
Timing really depends on the store but most spots start marking down hot food an hour or two before close. My local one does it around 7:30 or 8 and if you wait past 8:30 theyre usually gone. Best bet is to just ask the deli worker next time what time they usually bag em up, they will usually tell you straight. Those bones are gold too, I do the same thing and freeze the carcass if im not making stock right away.
