I thought those laser levels were just a gimmick for new guys

My boss on a job in Charlotte last month insisted we use one for a long garden wall. I figured my string line was fine, but after setting up the laser, we laid 500 bricks in a day with a perfect line the whole way. It cut our checking time in half and the client loved the straight look. What other tools did you guys think were a waste but turned out to be a big help?

Remember when I said stud finders were for people who couldn't tap a wall? Yeah, I bought one after my third patch job.

Had the same thing with a digital angle finder. Always used a speed square and thought it was just extra junk. Tried one on a tricky roof cut and it saved us a ton of time getting the compound angles right. That little screen showing the exact degree is a game changer for weird framing. Totally worth the money now.

It's funny how we get stuck in our ways. I used to make fun of my neighbor for his electric leaf blower, calling it a lazy man's rake. After helping him one fall, my back was saved and the yard was done in twenty minutes. Sometimes the new way is just better, even if it hurts to admit it. What's a tool you fought against but now can't live without?
