My neighbor said my plant care was too much like a schedule
She came over last month and saw my watering chart on the fridge, with exact days for each of my 15 houseplants. She told me, 'Plants don't read calendars, they feel the soil.' I was giving my peace lily water every Tuesday, but she showed me how to check the pot's weight instead. Now I just lift each one and only water the ones that feel light, which is maybe twice a week for some and once every ten days for others. It feels way less strict and my fiddle leaf fig looks happier. Has anyone else switched from a set schedule to just going by feel?
