Hit 200 species in my yard and it changed how I garden

I started keeping a list of every plant in my backyard last spring and just crossed 200 different species including weeds and trees. It surprised me because I thought I only had like 50 things growing out there. Anyone else track their yard's biodiversity and find way more than expected?

200 species including weeds" is the line that got me. Did you actually count the weeds separately or did you just throw them into the total? Because I've got this creeping charlie that takes over half my lawn every spring and I keep yanking it out, never gave it any credit in my garden list. Feels like cheating almost to count something you're trying to kill, doesn't it?

Creeping Charlie's the worst. @kim_johnson51 I've got a separate mental list for weeds I'm fighting. That's 50 species easy. Counting them feels wrong but technically they're there I guess.
