My local game store owner in Denver said he's thinking about dropping all Eurogames from his shelves.
He argued they're too slow and complex for new players, and he wants to focus on party and family games that sell faster. But I think removing games like Terraforming Mars or Scythe would really hurt the serious hobbyist crowd that keeps his store alive. Do you think a shop can survive without catering to hardcore geeks?

He's forgetting those big box games have huge markups, that's where the real profit is.

My local Target has a whole aisle of those marked-up board games, it's the same with fancy kitchen gadgets.

Exactly, and the shipping costs are insane too.
