My game group keeps calling 'Munchkin' a strategy game and it drives me nuts

We played last Friday and someone said 'I love the deep strategy in Munchkin' while just playing random cards. That's not strategy, it's pure chaos and take-that mechanics. Does anyone else get annoyed when people mix up party games with actual strategy titles?
