Had to choose between a big Kickstarter pledge or paying for my friend's wedding trip...

The new 'Eclipse: Second Dawn' campaign dropped right when I had to book flights for my buddy's wedding in Chicago. I went with the wedding, obviously... but I spent the whole weekend checking the pledge manager updates from my phone at the reception. Missed out on the early bird galactic playmat. Anyone else ever have to pick between a game and a real life thing, and still feel the FOMO?

Set a timer on my phone for the pledge manager close date. Budgeted for it like a bill, so when my sister's graduation trip came up, the money was already separate. Still checked my phone during the ceremony though.

That whole vibe of being physically present but mentally in a pledge manager is painfully familiar. I did the same thing during my cousin's birthday dinner for the latest Too Many Bones wave. The worst part is the quiet shame when someone asks what you're looking at on your phone.

That "checking the pledge manager at the reception" feeling is too real. I skipped a whole weekend trip last year to back the Frosthaven reprint, and my friends still give me grief for it. Watching their hiking photos pop up while I was hitting refresh on the Gamefound page was a special kind of torture.
