Had a total board game moment at my friend's cabin last month

We were playing a 5 player game of Root, about 2 hours in, and my friend's dog jumped on the table. It knocked over three faction boards and sent the deck everywhere. We all just froze for a second. I mean, we spent like 20 minutes just trying to piece back everyone's exact warrior counts and card hands from memory. It was a mess, but honestly, we all laughed it off and just started a new game. Has anyone else had a game totally wrecked by a pet or something random?

My cousin's cat once swatted a meeple right off the Catan board and batted it under the fridge. We heard it skitter across the floor and just vanished. Had to use a broom handle to fish it out like an hour later, covered in dust bunnies. The game was basically over at that point because we all forgot whose turn it was and what trades were on the table. Good times though, makes for a better story than actually winning sometimes.

Oh man, that's the real win right there. Those messed up game nights where everything goes sideways are the ones you actually remember years later. Beating someone at Catan just doesn't stick in your brain like a cat stealing a whole turn.
