Three episodes is way too generous for most shows. If the pilot doesn't grab me, I'm out. Life's too short to waste on something that might get better later.

Jump in with my own confession - I've absolutely powered through three full seasons of a show I hated just because I kept waiting for it to "get better." That's like three days of my life I'll never get back, you know? Pilot episodes are pretty much the first date of TV, and if they can't even show up on time with decent conversation, I'm out too. Though I say that now while I'm currently three episodes deep into a cooking competition that I only started because I liked the font on the title card. My taste in TV is basically just me winging it (like, really bad winging it).
