Dropped $60 on a true crime doc series my coworker in Dallas swore was gold, fell asleep twice
She said the twist at the end was worth the 8 hours, but I bailed after 3 episodes and now I'm out 60 bucks and a Saturday, so how do you all screen recommendations without watching the first hour yourself?

That coworker owes you 60 bucks honestly. My rule now is I check the subreddit for whatever show first and sort by "controversial" comments, if people are ripping it apart there you know it's not worth it. Also anything over 6 hours I wait till it's on a free trial somewhere, no way I'm paying up front for a nap.
