Binge watching on my laptop killed the battery in 8 months

I used to watch 4-5 episodes of The Bear every night with my laptop plugged in, and now it dies at 35% unless it's connected to power. Anyone else's battery tank from marathoning shows this way?

My buddy Dave killed his MacBook in 6 months flat doing the same thing with Succession. He'd fall asleep with it on his chest and wake up to a black screen that only worked when plugged in.

Blew through my own laptop's battery so fast I'm pretty sure Netflix should include a battery health warning in the opening credits. My machine started dying at 40% after a few months of falling asleep to The Office on repeat. Now I keep it plugged in like a life support machine and just pretend the battery gauge is lying to me. Your mileage may vary but in my experience, those late night marathons are basically a battery death sentence.
