That's 500 bikes with those pedals. I see them all the time on big box store bikes. Honestly, they work fine for most people just riding to the park or on a paved trail. Actually, those pedals are more like the ones on a $200 bike, not a $500 one. The cheap plastic ones on big box bikes are a safety issue because your foot slips off way too easy. A decent pair of metal platform pedals only costs about $30 and makes a basic bike way safer and more fun to ride.
