Debate: Grease vs anti-seize on pedal threads - which way causes less headaches later?
I had to make the call last week on a customer's carbon crank, went with anti-seize to avoid galling, but now I'm worried about it backing off if I didn't torque it just right. What's everyone running on aluminum pedals into steel or carbon cranks, and have you ever had one seize up either way?

Wait, are we supposed to actually torque pedal threads or just send it and hope for the best? I've always used grease and never had a problem, but now I'm worried I've been living a lie this whole time.

The 1980s called and they want their "just send it" mentality back. You grease the threads to prevent galling and get consistent torque, not because it's optional. I cringe every time I see someone crank pedals on with impact guns at the shop. Sure, maybe you lucked out for years, but that one stripped crank arm is gonna haunt you. Why gamble when a torque wrench is like 30 bucks and takes two extra seconds? You trust your dental work to a guy who "just sends it" on fillings?
