Clipper oil vs. the cheap stuff I swore by, 6 month update

For like 4 years I used generic sewing machine oil on all my clippers, figured why pay $12 for a tiny bottle right? Started noticing my Andis Masters getting hot mid cut around month 4, thought it was the blades. Finally bit the bullet on the real Wahl oil after a client in Charlotte commented her neck was irritated. Night and day difference, runs cooler and I haven't had a single hot spot since. Anyone else learn this the hard way or is my gear just getting old?

That hot neck thing is a real wake up call, man, and I did the exact same dance with a set of Osters for a year before I caved and bought the real stuff.
